We don't intend to use this list often so we don't bug you much, but you should hear more from Betty as Parents Day grows nearer, and I'll kick in an occasional tidbit that might help you find more ways to watch your Pride member performing. In that vein, I'd like to point you to a calendar we maintain for the OU Band Alumni that you might find useful as well: If you click on the first link on that page on a Mac or on most Windows systems, it will offer to subscribe to the calendar in a program you probably use. If it launches some program you never use or does nothing at all, don't worry about it, just click the second link, "OU Band Alumni Events online." The Pride has a complex but reasonably stable gameday schedule that starts at a different time each week, depending on when kickoff is. It includes a gameday rehearsal, a concert 90 minutes before kickoff, a parade to the stadium, and a post-game concert on the field. Everything but the last item there is both free and open to all parents; the post-game concert, of course, is only an option for people who have tickets to the game and who stick around. With kickoff for the home opener scheduled for just after 6 PM, the gameday rehearsal start at 11 AM on Saturday, and runs a bit longer than usual due to the logistics of the first home game. Saturday is Band Day at OU, the first one since 1982, and at 1 PM, The Pride will rehearse with high school band members from across Oklahoma who've come to participate. Unfortunately, that part of the practice is inside the stadium complex, so only The Pride, staff, registered high school students, and **their** parents will be able to attend that part of rehearsal. That's not the normal situation -- most Pride gameday rehearsals are open to you as Pride parents, but they're normally not held inside the stadium walls where security now tightens about 24 hours before kickoff. We keep the calendar updated as we get rehearsal times and performance opportunities -- right now, there's no detail for next Saturday's game against Tulsa, but there will be by this time next week. I hope it's a resource from the Pride Alumni that you can use if you're going to be in Norman on gameday.
